Bethlehem FC clinch 5-a-side football title

Imphal, December 30 2021: Bethlehem FC came from behind to beat Jericho FC 4-3 in the final of the 1st JS Wartha Memorial 5 Men A-Side Soccer Tournament at Panchai Mini Ground, Chandel, on Thursday.

Jericho FC moved ahead in the 5th minute with Beningtha on target but it was cancelled out by Bethlehem's Uninov in the 13th minute.

Jericho retook the lead in the 22nd minute courtesy of Thumwarhring and Beningtha scored his second goal in the 24th minute to give Jericho a brief 3 -1 advantage.

But Bethlehem staged a stunning comeback with a double from Warngam before Punshi's 47th-minute strike eventually turned the tide as Bethlehem FC got their hands on the winners' trophy.

Earlier in the semifinals, Bethlehem FC overcame Israel FC in a penalty shootout while Jerocho FC handed out an 8-0 thrashing to Sodom & Gomorrah FC, who claimed the third place after defeating Israel FC 4-0 .
