Kashmir players excel at Taekwondo competition in Bhutan

In a rare achievement, boys and girls from India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir excelled at a Taekwondo international competition in Bhutan, by winning medals.
Shuja Ahmad, an official of the Jammu and Kashmir Martial Arts Association, said: " A total 15 people participated and eight of them, including boys and girls, won medals" .
Bronze medal winner Shamsu Nisa said: "I won bronze medal in Bhutan.
I have also participated in the national tournament.
I request all the girls to learn Taekwondo for their self protection" .
The winners said that participation in such competition gave them encouragement and exposure.
"I am feeling great.
We went to Bhutan to participate in the international event.
I think we made our state and country proud in Bhutan," said a medal winner, Nisar Ahmad.
Besides India, players from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Indonesia also participated in this championship.
