REYS, PTRC get full points in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, February 26 2023: REYS and PTRC picked up full points in contrasting styles in Sunday's action of the MNCA Elite Tournament.

REYS recorded a comprehensive seven-wicket win over RULE in their league match at Cherapur, Thoubal.

Opting to field after winning the toss, REYS bowled out RULE for 79 in 32.3 overs as Romario removed the opposition's openers before taking two more wickets.

Kiran Laishram did his part with two wickets while Sougrakpam Shangkar and Sapam Bikash bagged one each for their side.

Chasing a meagre total, REYS knocked off the runs in 18 overs courtesy of Naoshek-pam Manglemna (20), Md Basir Rahman (19) and Laishram Daniel (16 not out) and Paul Zomi (6 not out) .

In the process, they lost three wickets.

For RULE, N Sarojkumar snapped two wickets and Thokchom Kishan took one.

Romariom, who picked up four wickets, was adjudged the man of the match.

Meanwhile, the match between PTRC and TRAU ended in bizarre circumstance after the latter, whowere chasing a 171-run target, refused to play after making 8/1 in four overs.

As a result, PTRC were awarded full points.
