AMWJU shooting: Gautam Sharma wins gold medal

Imphal, August 25 2024: Sh Gautam Sharma won gold medal in the 1st Journalists' Shooting Competition, organised by All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU), at MRA Shooting Range, Imphal West on Sunday.

Gautam Sharma shot a score of 84 to win the men/women's .22 rifle open sight prone event.

L Kamaljit secured 80 points to finish second while Onel Sambanduram took third place with 78 points.

The closing event was attended by MLA Thangmeiband AC Kh Joykishan, Bijoy Kak-achingtabam, president AMWJU), and Oinam Romen, social activist, Shanjoy Ahanthem, international awardee & chairman Bhanubi Memorial Trust, as chief guest, president and guests of honour, respectively.

Earlier in the day, MLA Wangkhei AC Thanjam Arunkum, Bijoy Kakchingtabam, president AMWJU, Moirangthem Rachandra Singh, president Manipur Rifle Association, and Ksh Shivakanta, SP Imphal West, attended the opening ceremony as chief guest, president and guests of honour.
