FC Raengdai seal 1st Major L Jyotin football tourney title

L Bikramjit scored in both halves to guide FC Raengdai Noney to a 2-0 win over RAU Lairikyengbam Leikai in the final of the 1st Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ashok Chakra (Pothumous) Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2025 at Moirang Multipurpose Hr Sec School Ground, on Sunday.
In a tightly contested first half, Bikramjit broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, giving his side the lead heading into the break.
After the interval, FC Raengdai, despite their advantage, had to work hard to maintain control and extend their lead.
Bikramjit once again proved decisive, sealing the win with a second goal in the 86th minute, ensuring his team clinched the title in style.
The final match was witnessed by GOC Maj Gen Samar Singh, Lt Gen (retired) Konsham Himalaya, Indian women's football team captain Oinam Bembem Devi, commanding officer of the 5th Sikh Regiment, and several Army officers.
Individual accolades were also awarded during the tournament.
L Premkumar (WAFA) earned the best goalkeeper accolade, L Bikramjit (FC Raengdai) claimed adjudged top scorer award for his six goals, and M Jojo (RAU) walked away with the best player award.
The tournament was jointly organised by the 57 Mountain Brigade Spear Corps and the District Football Association, Moirang.
