27th Sub-Junior National Sepaktakraw : State boys and girls' teams off to winning starts

Imphal, December 22 2024: Both the State boys and girls got off to winning starts in team event as the 27th Sub-Junior National Sepaktakraw Championship commenced this afternoon at Mini Stadium, Trikarpur, Kasargod district Kerala under the aegis of Sepaktakraw Federation of India.

In the girls Group A opening league match, Manipur defeated Delhi 3-0.The first regu sealed a 15-9, 15-14 win to make it 1-0 before the second regu sealed a 15-12, 15-5 win and the third regu posted a 15-4, 15-9 win.

Notably Manipur are drawn alongside Assam, Odisha and Delhi in Group A.Meanwhile, Group B features Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.

Top two teams from each group will advance to the semis.

Meanwhile in the boys team event opener, Manipur defeated Uttar Pradesh by 3-0 scoreline as the first regu registered a 15-13, 15-2 win, second regu secured a 15-5, 15-6 win and the third regu clinched a 15-4, 15-10 win.

Manipur are placed in Group A alongside Nagaland, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

As many as 9 teams clubbed into two groups are taking part in the boys team event.

Top two teams will progress into the semi-finals.
