DMRAO, KLASA FC romp in MSL

Imphal, January 18 2022: Both DMRAO and KLASA FC strolled to an emphatic victory in Tuesday's action of the 14th Manipur State League at Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

DMRAO started the day with a 6-2 drubbing of NEROCA FC as N Naresh grabbed a hat-trick in his side's thumping win.

The Awang Sekmai side moved ahead after five minutes via an own goal and then Naresh doubled the lead in the 18th minute before M Sushil reduced the deficit for NEROCA.

After the break, it was Naresh on target again to make it 3-1 with a 69th-minute effort as NEROCA's hopes of comeback were in tatters after DMRAO further stretched their lead in the 74th minute courtesy of Ningphahman before Kinesh (80th) and Naresh (87th), his third goal, converted to put the game beyond doubt.

Manglenthang found NEROCA's second goal in injury time.

It was Group-A bottom-placed DMRAO's first win from their eight games while NEROCA FC occupied sixth place of Group A points table with 10 points from eight matches.

Kishan Th netted a treble as KLASA FC enjoyed an easy day with a6-l hammering of GSC.

With the result, KLASA FC moved three points clear at the summit of Group A table, with 19 points from eight games.

Second-placed Sagolband United have 15 points from seven matches while KIYC stay third with 14 points from eight games.

They are two points ahead of GSC.

Lunminlen Haokip opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Kishan (24th, 38th) struck twice to make it 3-0 as Mangjoel Neihsial reduced the deficit in the 45th minute for GSC.

After the interval, Kishan completed his hat-trick after finding the back of the net in the 55th minute.

Then Lunminlen claimed his second goal in the 64th minute and put KLASA 5-1 up before Sitaljit wrapped up the scoring and the victory with an 84th-minute strike.
