Friendly football match held in Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, April 15 2018:
With an aim to promote and strengthen cordial relationship among the people of hill and valley and also to promote games and sports among the youngsters, a friendly football match between the elected members of ADC Sadar Hills and Mami Thawan was impressively organized today at Ngahmun playground in Kangpokpi District.
The friendly football match was organized by Keithelmanbi Youth Association.
Mami Thawan players comprising of Manipuri film actors, directors, producers, editors, etc.
were led by Romi Meetei, noted Director of Manipur film while ADC Sadar Hills team were led by Lamkholen Kipgen, Executive Member apart from other member including Lamminthang Kipgen, Milan Pradhan, Thangkam Lupheng.
Hundreds of crowd thronged Ngahmun playground when the friendly football match was viral in social media this morning to witness more particularly the film actors wearing football uniform and playing with the local MDCs.
The friendly match began with a high note putting pressure on both sides.
It was Mami Thawan who broke the silence in the 17th minute when Hura's low crossing was brilliantly converted by Sadananda with his left foot.
Despite a big threat from the well combination of W Roshan and Sadananda, ADC Sadar Hills team managed to find the net before the interval in the 35th minute through Lamkholen Kipgen who volleyed the ground ball from Paominthang.
The second half witnessed more pressure from both sides until Romi Meetei sent in Khaba to score the winning goal in the 63rd minute to edge past the ADC Sadar Hills team 2-1 .
Meanwhile, Mami Thawan also presented football to the local youth club to show their gratitude and as a mark of promoting brotherhood.
An impressive feast marked the occasion.
