Ranji Trophy Plate Group : Manipur dismissed for 98 runs in first innings, trail Goa by 223 runs

Manipur are trailing behind Goa by 223 runs at stumps on Day 2 after being bowled out for a lowly first innings total of 98 runs within 25.1 overs in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group match at Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim.
Resuming the day at 302 for 7 (87 overs), the hosts added 74 runs in 22.2 overs courtesy of Samar Shravan Dubashi who posted 75 runs off 139 balls to finish their first innings with a total of 376 .
For Manipur, K Priyojit (2/39 in 20 overs), Rex (2/43 in 21 overs), Bishorjit Konthoujam (2/65 in 17.2 overs) and Lamabam Ajay (2/87 in 20 overs) picked two wickets apiece in this innings as Pheiroijam Jotin and Longjam Ronald claimed a wicket apiece.
Continuing the day, Manipur faced a stiff opposition from Goa bowlers and were dismissed for a paltry total of 98 runs as Shubham Tari shone with a fifer (5/41 in 12.1 overs) while Ruthvik Naik (2/39) and Mohit Redkar (2/2) shared two wickets apiece.
Only Karnajit Yumnam (17 off 42 balls), Johnson (12 off 22 balls) and Prafullomani (25 off 21 balls) managed double digit scores for Manipur.
Asked to follow on, Manipur were 55/1 after 16 overs, thanks to Karnajit's unbeaten 41 off 58 balls, to trail by 223 runs.
