KASC, AKSDO, TCMDC win big in MNCA Men's U-23 Tournament

KASC, AKSDO and TCMDC emerged easy winners in Wednesday's league matches of the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Tournament 2023-24.KASC pummelled YPHUC by 327 runs in their meeting at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Knocks by Md Sharif Khan (104), Muhammad Ali Karim (83), Md Aqeel (68 not out) and Washim Akram (62) helped KASC pile up a total of 381/4 in their 40 overs after deciding to bat.
The innings also saw Afjal Khan score 23 and Bm Irfan finish with an unbeaten 13 .
In the process, Sharif Khan was trapped lbw by Birbal Irom, Ali Karim fell to Konsam Mangal Singh, Washim Akram was removed by Irom Ishor, and Afjal Khan was dismissed lbw by Bish-woraj Sharma.
After their brilliant batting show, KASC followed it up with a lethal bowling assault to demolish YPHUC's batting lineup in 25.5 overs for a measly 54, with only Irom Ishor (15 not out) reaching double figures.
Md Babu and Md Aqeel scalped three wickets apiece while Bm Afsar, Bm Irfan and Afjal Khan took one each to help KASC secure an emphatic win.
At Cherapur (Thoubal), AKSDO made light work of REYS, beating them by 139 runs.
Asked to bat, AKSDO scored 224/8 as both Bishorjit Mangang and Saikhom Kai-ku Meetei finished with 75.Laishram Nirash Singh (24 not out) and Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei (20) were other contributors in their innings.
AKSDO then needed 15.3 overs to bowl out REYS for 85.Rosan Laishram claimed four scalps, Akash Laishram snapped three wickets, Sanayai Ningthoujam picked up two and Rohit Laishram chipped in with one in AKS-DO's resounding victory.
In their chase, Naoshekpam Manglemba Meetei (33 not out) was the lone bright spot for REYS.
Earlier, Kiran Laishram took three wickets for REYS.
TCMDC, meanwhile, beat THAU by six wickets at Moi-jing Public Ground, Thoubal.
TCMDC elected to field and bundled out THAU for 99 in 21.5 overs.
Albert Sorokhaibam was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets.
Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma did his bit with three scalps while Rain Urikhimbam, Ringku Kangujam and Laishram Valindra each contributed one.
For THAU, only Shinoj Khwairakpam (33 not out) and Pukhrambam Hilbert Singh (20) managed to get into double digits in their innings.
In their response, TCMDC completed the chase in 15.1 overs, with contributions from Laishram Vivekananda Singh (26 not out), Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (21), Rain Urikhimbam (14), Leihaothabam Tondon Sharma (14), Waikhom Mathoi Meitei (13) and Takhellambam Nganba Meitei (1 not out) .
For THAU, Rajkumar Thapa claimed four wickets in a losing cause.
