U-16 boys cricket: PCC beat YUCC by 6 wkts to reach semis

Imphal, February 12 2022:
PCC (Mayai Koibi) were the first team to earn a semifinal berth in the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy after beating YUCC (Kwakeithel Moirangpurel) by six wickets at Heinoupok playground on Saturday.
YUCC who opted to bat first had saw themselves being reduced to 137 runs after they were bowled out in 27.1 overs as Thoiba (61/51) emerged as the main performer in their innings.
It was a collective bowling effort by PCC, with Takhelmayum Vikash leading the attack with three scalps as Mairembam Lucky Meitei, Chabungbam Paikhomba and Ajay Mahto Kumar picked up two wickets each and Laitonjam Anjan accounted for one.
Then it was up to the PCC batting unit who delivered the task, scoring 139 for 4 in 22.1 overs.
Takhelmayum Vikash, who took three wickets, took centre stage in PCC's run chase.
He slammed an unbeaten 83 to guide his side to a dominant six-wicket win en route to the last four.
In the chase, Max Warokpam Meitei (12), Mathurabashimayum Pravesh (7), Ajay Mahto Kumar (6 not out) and Mairembam Lucky Meitei (5) were other run-getters.
