YUCC, WYC cruise in MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25

YUCC and WYC notched up convincing wins in Wednesday's action of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25.YUCC cruised to a 5-wicket victory over CDCC in their meeting at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
CDCC, electing to bat, posted a total of 168/9.Viking Salam top-scored with an unbeaten 43, supported by Kshetrimayum Robert (25) and Priyojit Narengbam (23) .
YUCC's bowling attack was spearheaded by Devraj Nongthombam, who claimed 3 wickets.
N Rahulkumar and Somraj Laishram each took 2 wickets, while Ningthoujam Sanjit added one.
In response, YUCC reached the target in 26.3 overs, losing five wickets along the way.
Ningthoujam Sanjit played a standout knock, scoring an unbeaten 102 off 60 balls, while Shyam contributed 24 .
Kadamjit Moirangthem (13), Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang (8), Laishram Bidyashwor (8), Ningthoujam Rohit (5), and L Lenin (2) also made vital contributions.
CDCC's bowling attack saw Kshetrimayum and Mutum Jodiba each take two wickets, while Khurshid Alam claimed one wicket.
WYC, meanwhile, outplayed AKSDO by 42 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
WYC chose to bat first and were all out for 212 .
Wangkhem Shamungou led the way with 59 runs, with S Herokumar (37), Ruhit Nongmaithem (23), Priyananda Thokchom (19), Huirongbam Biteshwor (14 not out), and Mangi Sharma Gotimayum (10) also contributing to the score.
AKSDO's Saikhom Kaiku Meetei was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets.
Saikhom Kaiku Meetei was the chief destroyer for AKSDO, taking four wickets.
In reply, AKSDO were dismissed for 170 in 32.5 overs, falling short by 42 runs.
Despite a valiant effort from Laishram Samson Meetei (50) and contributions from Bishorjit Mangang (22), Akash Laishram (21), and Prameshwor Moirangthem (21), AKSDO could not reach the target.
WYC's bowlers were instrumental in the win, with Mangi Sharma Gotimayum, Huirongbam Biteshwor, Ruhit Nongmaithem, and Wangkhem Laksmon each taking 2 wickets.
