MNCA Elite: TRAU thrash REYS by 115 runs, CRAU beat PTCC

The 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25 witnessed an emphatic performance from TRAU as they notched up a commanding 115-run victory over REYS at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground on Tuesday.
Put in to bat, TRAU posted a respectable total of 201/5 in their allotted 40 overs, thanks to a stellar unbeaten century from Priyojit Kangabam, who anchored the innings with a brilliant 108* .
Contributions from Mutum Swabhiman (26), Thangjam Rishi (14*), and Behul Moi-bungkhongbam (13) further solidified the team's total.
For REYS, Sapam Bi-kash was the main bowler, claiming two wickets, while Yungkham Romario Roy and Kiran Laishram picked up one wicket each.
In response, REYS struggled against a disciplined TRAU bowling attack and were bundled out for 86 in just 21.3 overs.
Nanao Laishram fought hard with a 25-run knock, but the team failed to build partnerships.
TRAU's bowlers executed their plans effectively, with Somorjit Salam and Priyojit Kangabam leading the charge by taking three wickets each.
Preethson Arubam and Sanjembam Somokanta also contributed significantly, securing two wickets apiece to seal the victory for TRAU .
In another match, CRAU emerged victorious over PTCC by a narrow margin of 13 runs in a closely contested encounter at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Batting first, CRAU put up a competitive total of 212/7 .
Ayekpam Rakesh top-scored with a solid 70, while Lamabam Ajay remained unbeaten on 49 .
Contributions from Sanatomba K (23) and Johny Kh (20) further strengthened the innings.
PTCC's bowlers put up a fight, with Shapam Kenjit and Dominic Moirangthem taking two wickets each, while Sohail Akram and Lanngamba Ningombam chipped in with one each.
Chasing 213 for victory, PTCC fought valiantly but ultimately fell short, finishing at 199/8 after their full quota of 40 overs.
Andy Mandingbam led the resistance with 58 runs, followed by Shapam Kenjit (41), Paonam Champion (27), and G Gomi Sharma (21), but their efforts were not enough to secure the win.
CRAU's disciplined bowling played a decisive role in defending their total.
Thongam Joychandra was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Bm Sabakhan took two.
Senate Mayengbam and Lamabam Ajay each claimed a wicket to ensure CRAU's triumph.
