Manipur emerge overall champions of National Jr Thang-Ta Championship 2024

Manipur emerged as the overall team champions at the 30th National Junior Thang-Ta Championship 2024 held recently in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
The state's team, comprising 34 boys and girls, secured a total of 26 medals.
These included 17 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals, earning them the championship title.
In the junior boys' (phunaba ama) competition, Moirangthem Bablu Meetei, Thoiba Yumnam, Khumbongmayum Rohan Meetei, Nepo lian Maibam, and Rajkumar Tondonsana each excelled, winning gold medals in their respective weight categories.
Meanwhile, Yumnam Mahendra Singh, Nongmaithem Bikash, and Loitongbam Thouna Meitei triumphed in the junior boys' (phunaba ani) division, each earning a gold medal.
Among the girls, Lourembam Daina, Nongthombam Puja Devi, and Laishram Ni-bashini Chanu emerged as gold medallists in their categories.
Poklen Huirem and Aribam Rajlakshmi Devi claimed gold in the junior thang-haiba event for boys and girls respectively.
Additionally, Ningthoujam Mahesh Singh secured gold in junior boys' thanglon, while Gaitri Laishram achieved top honors in the girls' division.
Yungreiphi Ahungshi Shimrei also contributed to Manipur's success by winning gold in the junior girls' khonglon-khutlon event.
