Imphal, December 07 2012: Continuing with the philanthropic work and reaching out to the general public, Maj Gen UK Gurung, YSM IGAR (S) presented books, stationery and sports items to Standard English School, Khongjom and population of Upper Khoripok and Lairam Punka village today.

Maj Gen UK Gurung, YSM distributed the stationery and sports items to the students and teachers in presence of Principal of the school and Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles.

The items were presented as part of the military civic action programme in order to help the young students of the school in their education and sports activities and reaching out to the populace even in far flung areas by the Assam Rifles.

During the interaction, the Principal, students and villagers highlighted the support and cooperation extended by Assam Rifles while the General Officer assured maximum possible help and support for the education and rich sports culture of Manipur.
