RYC sports meet begins at Rangkhung

The 14th annual sports meet of Rangkhung Youth Club (RYC) under the motto 'Arise and work, vision for future' commended from Tuesday at Rangkhung Part -1 playground in Noney district.
The opening ceremony of the four-day sports event was attended by Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei as chief guest and Noney DC Joseph Pauline Kamson as guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Janghemlung said everyone in this world will die one day but all need to do good things for the community and shoulder the responsibility for betterment of the society.
He then appealed to the people to be messenger and torch bearers of love to mankind and do good for others.
Underlining development of Tamenglong at faster pace, the MLA said road connectivity and railways projects will boost economic growth in Tamenglong and Noney districts.
He also appealed to the people to wake up and go forward for the bright future.
In his speech, Joseph Pauline Kamson exhorted the young sport persons to be dedicated and committed in their chosen field and encouraged the gathering to be strong both physically and mentally.
The Sports Meet will include competitions in football, volleyball, 100 and 200 metre races, relay race, sack race, javelin throw, high jump, short-put, tug-of-war, arm wrestling and badminton.
In the first football match played on the opening day, Rangkhung Part -3 (A team) defeated Rangkhung Part -2 (A team) by 3-0 goal margin.
