7 teams prevail in 5-a-side football tourney

Imphal, September 04 2024: The 1st State Level Kangjam Rajesh Memorial 5-a-side Football Tournament on Wednesday saw seven teams register wins.

Junior FC eased to a 5-2 win over Jr CSWU as Majid scored a hat-trick, with Shagabuddin and Ajit Ali each contributing a goal.

Rohen Kumar and Alison NK netted both goals for CSWU.

Uran Chiru carved out a 2-1 success against AT Unit 18-B.Repen and Thangvar converted for Uran Chiru while L James scored for the losing side.

Nihar FC edged past PYC 3-2 with strikes from Mohammad, Mustaque and Tajuddin.

PYC scored their two goals through Lungngam and Rahul.

Premika FC also prevailed in a similar manner, defeating BSU 3-2.Harish netted a brace while Harish added one in their win.

Md Mujahid scored both goals for the losing team.

ILU, meanwhile, romped to a 5-1 triumph over NCTC as Md Anash scored a double while Sh Suraj, Md Warish and Jackson contributed one goal apiece.

NCTC got their consolation goal through Ak Satish.

Saturday too recorded a 5-1 win over their opponents Sekhor FC.

S Jackson led the scoring with a treble while S Michael grabbed a double to steer their team to a comfortable victory.

Sekhor FC scored their lone goal through Lanchenba.

AKRUCO FC fought back from two goals down to snatch a 5-4 win over IMA.

H Kishan was the hero for the winning side, scoring a hat-trick as teammate H Arun contributed two goals.

For IMA, N Rojen scored twice while L Ramanda and Prasanta each netted one.
