Imphal, February 04 2025: TRAU thumped ESU by 8 wickets in Tuesday's action of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Opting to held first, TRAU restricted ESU to a total of 140/8 in 40 overs, delivering a disciplined bowling performance.

Somorjit Salam led the attack with an impressive three-wicket haul, while Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman and Mutum Swabhiman provided crucial support, each claiming two wickets.

Despite ESU's struggles, Thokchom Nishikanta anchored the innings with a resilient, unbeaten 56.Contributions from Chongtham Mehul Shreth (18), Hanjabam Donba Sharma (15), and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (15) offered some stability, but the batting unit ultimately fell short against TRAU's controlled bowling effort.

Chasing 141 for victory, TRAU comfortably reached the target in 30.1 overs, driven by standout performances from Priyojit Kangabam and Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman.

Kangabam remained unbeaten on 70, while Khuman's composed 50 not out further solidified their commanding pursuit.

Pukhrambam Prafullomani contributed a valuable 14, ensuring a smooth chase despite a two-wicket breakthrough from Chitaranjan Sharma.
