8th Mazarun Bibi Memorial Football Tournament gets underway

Jiribam, October 03 2018: The 8th edition of Mazarun Bibi Memorial Football Tournament, 2018 being organised by All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA), Jiribam kicked off today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School with a total of 8 teams taking part in it.

The inaugural function of the tournament was attended by M Tilok Singh, Superintendent, YAS, Jiribam; S Maniton Singh, vice-president AJSA, Jiribam and Dil Bahamdin, donor as presidium members.

The opening match of the tournament was played between New Life Club, Uchathol and Lalpani SC Team wherein the latter team managed a 2-0 win.

Lalpani SC took a 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal scored by George in the 28th minute before he added another in the 67th minute to hand his team a 2-0 win.

Despite desperate attempts to reduce the gap from the Uchathol side, the game ended 2-0 in favour of Lalpani SC whose defence line up produced a fine performance today.

RYC, Ramgaizang will play Khasi YC, Kamaranga in the next match tomorrow.
