KIWT: Jonlhing Veng teams, Sipinlhei & Phungin enter veteran, main football finals

Kangpokpi, February 03 2022: Jonlhing Veng entered the finals of both veteran and main football events of the 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022, along with Sipinthei Veng and Phungtin Veng.

In the first semi-final match of veteran football on Thursday, Jonlhing Veng registered a narrow 2-1 win over Chengjapao Veng.

Kamgougin's early goal in the 6th minute before Mangminhao's winning goal in the 23rd minute gave Jonlhing Veng their berth in the final while the lone goal of Chengjapao Veng was scored by Vunggoulen in the 18th-minute.In the second semi-final match, Sipinthei Veng, who earned the 'blessed with good luck' epithet, emerged victorious by similar 2-1 margin against Phungtin Veng with a brace from Hengam in the 29th and 64th minutes while the consolation goal of Phungtin Veng was scored by Jangngam in the 58th minute.

In main football first semi-final match, Phungtin Veng overcame Kholmun Veng 5-4 via tie break after a goalless draw during the normal time while in the second semifinal match, Jonlhing Veng had an easy 3-0 win over Sipinthei Veng to set up the final match with Phungin Veng on February 5 .

Ngamgunlal (4th, 32nd) and Haominlen (9th) scored for Jonlhing veng.

On Friday, Nanglhun Veng will play Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound in U-15 football final and Jonlhing Veng will play Sipinthei Veng in Veteran football final.

In women's volleyball final, Absijolneng Veng will play Moltinchan Veng while Tintong Veng will play Dr GG Crozier Mussion Compound in men's volleyball final.

The mai n football final and the closing ceremony of the tournament will be held on February 5 .
