YCCIC Ahallup, Hockey Union, ARC Shillong, SEYO move ahead

Imphal, January 29 2015 : On the second day of Ist Wahengbam Thoibi Devi Challenge Hockey Trophy-2015, which is being organised by Manipur Hockey at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium here, YCCIC Ahallup, SEYO Singjamei, ARC Shillong and Hockey Union Lairikyengbam moved ahead with win on Friday.

In the first match played in the morning, YCCIC Ahallup humbled Lizard Library Wangkhei by 6-4 goals.

Of the six goals of YCCIC, P Monesh scored two goals in the 9th and 42 minute respectively.

The remaining four were contributed by Y Joychandra, Bikram, N Huru and N Denik in the 44th, 46th, 52nd and 69th minute respectively.

On the other hand, of the four goals that came in favour of Lizard Library, two came from P Dingku in the 54th and 61 minute while the rest were fetched by S Kas and N Jesile in the 31st and 47th minute respectively.

YCCIC Ahallup, Hockey Union, ARC Shillong, SEYO move ahead

In the second match of the tournament played in the morning, SEYO Singjamei defeated All Moirang Hockey Association by 1-0 goal.

The match winning goal of SEYO was netted by I Stenlin in the 20th minute.

In the afternoon matches, ARC Shillong dealt a humiliating defeat to PHAM Yaiskul by scoring 14 goals against nil in the first match.

The 14 goals of ARC Shillong were scored by L Bikram in 9th minute; Th Bandi in 11th minute; Th Hemjit in 16th, 19th and 58th minute, M Premchand in 21st and 28th minute, A Jotin in 26th minute, M Amarjit in 26th and 48th minute; M Romankumar in 53rd minute, M Arunkumar in 55th, 60th and 61st minute.

In the last match of the day, Hockey Union Lairikyengbam thrashed Meira Bashikhong by 11-0 goals.

Of the 11 goals, M Dhananjoy, P Rakesh and K Boy contributed 3 goals each.

The 3 goals of Dhananjoy came in the 2nd, 16th and 66th minute, that of Rakesh in the 34th, 47th and 53rd minute while that of Boy in the 34th, 40th and 60th minute of the match.

The remaining two goals were scored by Th Kishan and M Dinachandra in the 57th and 64th minute respectively.

On the third day of the tournament on Saturday, SSB Lucknow and Radial Club Nagaon would play the first match at 8 am, SEYO Singjamei and YCCIC Ahallup would play the second match at 9 am, PHAM Yaiskul would meet Meira Bashikhong in the third match at 12 noon while Hockey Union Lairikyengbam Leikai and ARC Shillong would play the last and fourth match of the day.
