AKSDO, RCA have it easy in MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy

AKSDO (Khangabok) and RCA (Lilong) emerged easy winners in Thursday's fixtures of the 1st MNCA Men's U19 One Day Trophy.
AKSDO handed an eight-wicket thrashing to Blue Hawk (Khurai) in their Group B encounter at Oriental College.
The Khangabok side made short work of Blue Hawk's batting lineup by bundling out the Khurai squad in 25 overs for 77 and laid the foundation for their emphatic victory.
Saikhom Kaiku breathed fire in his six-over spell that earned him six wickets, followed by Rosan Laishram who did his part with two scalps while Sanayai Ningthoujam and Laishram Nirash accounted for one wicket apiece.
Blue Hawk's dismal innings saw only Siddarth Irom (17), Manas (14) and Wasim Khan (11) score in double digits.
Chasing a low total, AKSDO needed just 11.5 overs to complete the chase courtesy of Bishorjit (32), Laishram Samson (21), Maxi Ningthoujam (7 not out) and Saikhom Kaiku (1 not out) .
In the process, opener Bishorjit was dismissed lbw by Waikhom Rex while his partner Samson got caught off Moirangthem Romesh's bowling.
Saikhom Kaiku walked away with the man of the match trophy.
RCA, meanwhile, outclassed ESU (Wangkhei) by 81 runs in a Group A match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Electing to bat, RCA were all out for 142 in 34.4 overs.
In the innings, Aziz Mirza (32), Md Alfash (21), Sharif (16), Zamir Khan (15), Irfan (13) and Imran Khan (11) were the main run-getters.
Despite their feeble innings, RCA had no trouble winning the match riding on their bowlers who skittled out ESU in 28.2 overs for 61.Zamir Khan led the scalping finishing with a haul of four wickets as Syed Hussain and Naeem Ahamad impressed with three wickets each in their triumph.
Earlier, Ringku Kangjujam shone with the ball for ESU taking four wickets while Boocker Kangjam claimed two scalps.
Zamir Khan was adjudged the man of the match.
