Bpr 2nd Divn League : THASCO to meet SWC in final

Imphal, October 25 2019: THASCO, Ningthoukhong will lock horns with SWC, Ishok in the final of the 14th N Balananda Memorial Second Division Football League-2019 being organised by District Sports Association Bishnupur at Mini Stadium Bishnupur.

The first semi-final match of the tournament saw SWC, Ishok overcome earlier lapses to seal a 3-2 comeback win against Loktak FC, Loktak Project.

SWC had a poor start to the game and conceded two goals in the first half as DK Lamremrout and Adai Panmei found the target for Lokta FC, respectively in the 2nd and the 10th minute.

SWC however made an impressive return with L Ibochou pulling back a goal in the 37th minute before H Mahesh netted the equaliser in the 49th minute.

As Loktak FC failed to regain their momentum, Lungailan helped SWC end the stalemate with a crisp shot in the 57th minute.

SWC then held on to their lead till the final whistle to make themselves into the final.

Meanwhile in the second semi-final match, W John scored twice to help THASCO, Ningthoukhong thump WYC, Yumnam Khunou and book the final ticket.

L Khamboton put WYC ahead in the 8th minute of the match but W John drew level for THASCO in the 19th minute before completing his team's comback in the 25th minute with his another fine shot.

WYC struggled to put themselves back together and draw level in the remaining portion of the game however they were fended off well by THASCO defence with ease to help their team set up final date with SWC.
