NEROCA thrash KPFC 3-0 to reach 11th Loktak Trophy semi-final

Imphal, April 24 2019: NEROCA FC, Sangakpham continued its fine form at the 11th Loktak Trophy 2019 organised by All Moirang Football Association to thrash KPFC, Kha Potsangbam a 3-0 win and earned the semi-final berth as Group B winners today at Moirang Multipurpose Ground.

It was a keenly contested match in the first half but both teams failed to convert their chances making the scoreline read 0-0 till the half time.

The goal drought however ended just 2 minutes after the restart as Th Saran Singh made a fine move to find the back of the net.

NEROCA gradually took control of the game and it was at the stroke of the hour mark that Th Johnson doubled the lead.

N Manglem then make it 3-0 seven minutes latter as KPFC failed to make a memorable move in between.

NEROCA then keep the lead safe till the final whistle and earned the pole position of Group B.O Premchand of KPFC was yellow carded by the referee in the 59th minute of the match.

NEROCA will meet Group A runners up SSU, Singjamei in the second semi-final match on April 27 at 2 pm.

The first semi-final will be played between SU, Sagolband and NISA, Thangmeiband on April 26 at 2 pm .
