State bodybuilding team wins medals

Imphal, April 23 2022: State bodybuilding team won a gold and two silver medals in the recently concluded IFBB Mr Universe/Asia/India 2022 (Pune) and IBBFF Junior/Master/Senior Mr India National Championship 2022.Shangubam Rocky Singh (80kg) took silver medal in the Junior Mr Universe contest, where fellow state bodybuilders Ningthoujam Lion Singh (70kg) finished fourth as both Kshetrimayum Ringku Singh (70kg) and Monoharmayum Jrinabarta Sharma (60kg) took sixth place.

In the men's physique competition, Wangkheimayum Chitaranjan Singh secured fifth position.

In the Junior Mr India contest, Ningthoujam Lion Singh (65kg) clinched the gold medal and was also crowned junior overall champion, while fellow Manoharmayum Tribarta Sharma finished sixth.

On the other hand, Thokchom Tony Meitei (55kg) claimed silver medal in the Senior Mr India event.

In the men's classic event, Phamdom Arun Meitei took fifth position as Shamurailatpam Sachideva Sharma came sixth.

The men's physique event saw both Wangkheimayum Ronel Singh and Wangkheimayum Chitaranjan Singh finish fifth while Ningthoujam Joykanta Meitei secured fourth position in the Master Mr India competition.
