Purum Tampak reach DC Chandel Trophy semis

Imphal, November 22 2021: Purum Tampak SC were the first team to book a semifinal berth in the DC Chandel Trophy Football Tournament 2021 as Tampi FC eased their way into the quarterfinals on Monday.

Purum Tampak notched up a 3-1 win over Kanankhu YC to earn their place in the last-four.

It was Th Malchong who opened the scoring for Purum after he converted in the 28th minute as Y Adam made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute before Kanankhu reduced the deficit in the 51st minute through Belarhring, who made no mistake in scoring from the penalty spot.

After conceding a goal, Purum Tampak regained their two-goal cushion when PL Malreng netted in the 63rd minute and helped his side secure a convincing result on their way to the semifinals.

Earlier in a pre-quarterfinal match, Tampi FC drubbed Chandel Football Friends 3-0 to cruise into the quarterfinals.

Dy Nohrin struck in the opener in the 47th minute and then Ws Famous doubled the scoreline in the 60th minute before Darthingthang's 71st-minute goal wrapped up the match.
