TRAU to play in Second Division League

In yet another good news for football lovers of the State, general secretary of Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel, T Phulen today officially announced that TRAU will be competing in the Second Division League 2017-18 to be organised by All India Football Federation from March 16 beside other 17 teams from across India including 7 ISL teams.
Crediting TRAU's success to the people of the State, Phullen hailed the endless support of the football lovers of State.
He said that, "TRAU will be now playing in the second division league which is one step away from featuring in the I-League and it is because of the unending support and love bestowed by the people of Manipur since the inception of the organisation." He further said that new imminent players will be joining forces and will certainly help in facing the rivals in this competition.

He further said that, TRAU will see new faces namely Sanjeev Soraisam , Dinesh Soraisam, Nelson Kom, Angousana, L Milan, Kishan, Pnalenlai Khongsai, W Tomba, T Malemnganba and Robindro who will be playing in different positions and are ready to rope in French defender, Christoppe Jonnelle and Nigerian striker, Prince.
Goalkeeper Tajuddin will also be a part of the team, the secretary added.
TRAU which was instituted on October 2, 1958 have been a pioneering organisation in the field of Sports and other activities and have lifted the title of CC Meet, one of the premier and prestigious football tournament in India, 6 times and finished runners up 9 times.
Mentioning many immenent footballers and coaches of the State who grew from TRAU, secretary Phulen expressed his gratitude to all sports enthusiasts of the region in scaling such height.
He also thanked all those who supported morally and financially.
He also personally thanked HVS Construction Limited, Sishu Nistha Niketan, Comet and other firms for their relentless support.
Proprietor of HVS Construction Limited, H Vikram who was also at the media interaction also promised all possible help from his end.
Stating that TRAU is the second team to feature in the Second Division League after NEROCA, other officials of TRAU urged all sections of the State to encourage TRAU and help them reach new heights.
TRAU FC are clubbed along with Langsning FC, Mohammedan Sporting, JSW Bengaluru FC (reserves), Jamshedpur FC (reserves), Chennaiyin FC (reserves) in Group C .
AFC A-License holder L Nandakumar and other support staff will be supervising the team for the upcoming event.
