Imphal, March 18 2021: Somsai Battalion of Assam Rifles distributed sports equipment and teaching aids to Sihai cluster of Villages on yesterday.

The initiative was undertaken with the aim of promoting sports culture among the youth and providing the teaching aids to schools in remote villages of Ukhrul district.

A medical camp and sports tournament was also organised for the locals and the event received an overwhelming response with 800 villagers including 250 students.

The village youth were informed regarding the planned pre recruitment training camp for the aspiring youth in the third week of April.

The village locals and authorities greatly appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles and showed their gratitude by display of folk dance at the event.
