2 karatekas and 1 referee from Manipur in Indian team

Karate Association of India has selected 2 karatekas and 1 referee from Manipur to represent Indian Karate team in the forthcoming Thailand Open Karate Do Championship 2018 being organised by Thailand Karate Federation at Bangkok from July 18 to 22 .
The karatekas selected to represent India in the championship are Thokchom Roji Chanu and Kangten Surchandra Lamkang while Shihan Mutum Bankim Singh will officiate as referee at the same championship.
Thokchom Roji Chanu will take part in the senior - 50 kg kumite event.
Roji who was born to Thokchom Sonamani Singh and Thokchom (O) Shanti Devi of Patsoi Part IV, Imphal West and she is a trainee of Karate Training School Patsoi Part I .
Meanwhile, Kangten Surchandra, born to Thamphu Lamkang Kangten and Rita Lamkang Kangten of Thamla Khuren Village (Chandel), is a Sports Authority of India trainee and will be participating in the cadet - 57 kg kumite event.
Shihan Mutum Bankim is the chairman of Referee Commission of North East India and Manipur and an international judge under the Asian Karate Do Federation.
