MSL: NESU romp, Sang-gai Heroes upset NEROCA FC

NESU and Sang-gai Heroes claimed decisive wins in markedly different fashion during the latest fixtures of the 17th Manipur State League 2024-25, while Milan FA and TRAU shared the spoils in a stalemate.
NESU delivered a scintillating performance to thrash YOSC 6-0, with Md Mustofa stealing the spotlight via a clinical hat-trick.
The forward opened the scoring with a 12th-minute strike before Meisnam Chourjit Meitei doubled the advantage on the half hour mark.
Mustofa struck again in the 36th minute to put NESU 3-0 up at the break.
After the interval, Nonglemba Yambem took centre stage, netting twice (61st, 79th minutes) either side of Mustofa's third goal (71st), capping off a ruthless display by the side at the Sagolmang Ground.
In a tightly contested affair, Sang-gai Heroes clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over NEROCA FC at the Aritficial Turf Ground.
A goalless first half gave way to late drama when Sakil Ahmad broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, firing home the decisive goal to secure three hard-earned points for his side.
Meanwhile, Milan FA and TRAU battled to a goalless draw, with neither side able to carve out a breakthrough.
A resolute defensive effort from both teams ensured the points were shared.
