2nd Women's Premier League 2024 kicks off in Senapati

Senapati, October 10 2024: The 2nd Women's Premier League 2024 kicked off at the Astro Turf Ground, Senapati on Thursday, featuring four teams.

Organised by the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) with support from the 16 Assam Rifles, this league marks significant progress since its inception just last year.

District women football players have shown remarkable improvement, with some already making their mark at the national level in a short time.

With proper guidance and support, more players are expected to emerge from the district.

The league's inaugural ceremony was graced by Major NM Singh, camp commander 16 Assam Rifles, Senapati Outpost, as the special guest.

Participating teams include Senapati FC, Makhrelui FC, Range Rover FC, and Maram Khunou FC.

In the opening matches on Thursday, Senapati FC defeated Makhrelui FC with a 9-goal margin, while Range Rover FC secured a 15-goal victory over Maram Khunou FC in the second match.

After a day's break, the next match will take place on Saturday.

The league winners will ad -vance to the state-level tour nament scheduled for early next year.
