Al-Ameen outclass WYC in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, May 08 2022: Sunday's Group B match of the 6th MNCA Elite Tournament saw Al-Ameen (Lilong) stroll to a 7-wicket win over WYC (Thoubal Wangkhem) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

Electing to bat first, WYC were restricted to 177/8 in the stipulated 40 overs.

In the innings, Mangi Sharma Gotimayum (37 not out), Thokchom Momocha (30), Priyobrata Moirangthem (29) and Tayenjam Tomba (17) were key run-getters for the Thoubal side.

Al-Ameen's duo of Habibullah Ahammed and Nongjaimayum Md Nasirshah Alam bowled well to share 7 wickets between them with the former claiming 4 scalps.

The Lilong squad then took 32.3 overs to achieve the target with 7 wickets to spare.

Md Basir Rahman led the Al-Ameen's chase, hitting 59 off 53 balls backed up by notable efforts from Nawaz (42), Md Mustaque (40) and Nongjaimayum Md Nasir -shah Alam (20) to amass full points with ease in their Group B meeting against WYC.

Al-Ameen's 3 wickets fell prey to Wangkhem Laksmon.

Md Nasirshah Alam, who scored 20 runs and took 3 wickets, earned the man-of-the-match accolade.

Monday's fixture pits FORCE against PTRC.
