KSC overwhelm GYC 5-1 in 13th Jiri Cup

KSC, Raniveng sent GYC, Gilgal packing from the 13th Jiri Cup Invitation Football Tournament with a 5-1 humiliation today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground.
Jacob took the centrestage in this one sided match as he netted thrice in the second half to ensure KSC a big 5-1 victory against GYC.
KSC started slowly and were 1-0 up against their rivals till the break thanks to Joseph's 14th minute strike.
KSC then gained full control of the match with Jacob scoring twice in the 53rd and the 66th minute to make it 3-0 and Kimminthang kept the scoring spree running with a goal in the 69th minute as GYC failed to resist KSC's concerted effort.
Jacob then rounded off the scoring in the 75th minute before Sangte grabbed a consolation goal in the 86th minute for GYC.
UBFC send HYC out with 5-1 thumping Yesterday, UBFC, Hmarkholien knocked HYC, Henchung out of the tournament with a 5-1 thrashing.
UBFC dominated the game right from the start and earned the huge 5-1 win against HYC riding on doubles by Jehova and Lalremsang.
UBFC raced ahead in the 23rd minute with Jehova strike before Lalremsang doubled their advantage in the 34th minute but Hminga pulled back a goal for HYC one minute away from the break to make it 1-2.After the restart UBFC grew stronger and took total control of the game as Emmanuel Khawbung extended the lead to 3-1 before Lalremsang handed UBFC a three goal lead at the stroke of the hour mark.
HYC who were busy guarding the goal line were further embarrassed with another goal as Jehova converted a fine chance to wrap up the game 5-1.Chiru SC will play PFC, Phaitol tomorrow in the next preliminary round knock out clash.
