All-round PTRC crush CRAU by 7 wkts

Imphal, July 07 2022: PTRC notched up a massive seven-wicket win over CRAU in Thursday's action of the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021-22 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam's lethal bowling display, backed up by teammate Jotin Singh Pheiroijam's performance, paved the way for PTRC's emphatic victory.

The duo's remarkable deliveries made short work of their opponents' batting lineup as CRAU were bowled out for a meagre 63 in 28 overs.

Bishworjit Konthoujam racked up five wickets, dismissing CRAU's Johny Kh (6), Potshangbam Bimol (0), Sanatomba (3), Takhellambam Kala (0), Lamabam Ajay (6) and Khumanthem Prakash (3).Jotin Pheiroijam, meanwhile, sent back openers I Nikhil (6) and Ph Jodash (4) early before dismissing Me-htab Jamal (2) .

Khaidem Joyraj Meitei chipped in with a wicket.

After an impressive bowling show, PTRC's top batting order followed it up with a brilliant performance that wrapped up their victory in 14.3 overs.

In the chase, Khangembam Santosh Singh scored 23, Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh was unbeaten on 19, Shapam Kenjit Singh made 12 and Gemson Mutum finished with 4 (not out) .

For CRAU, Takhellambam Kala, Lamabam Ajay and Ayekpam Uttam took one wicket each.

Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam, who scalped five wickets in six overs, was adjudged the man of the match.

Al-Ameen and Cyclone will be up against each other on Friday, July 8 .
