Kankhu AFC, Cheengkhu YC to square off in Nicholas Moyon football final

Imphal, December 06 2024: Kankhu Athletic FC and Cheengkhu YC have advanced to the final of the Sepoy Nicholas Moyon Memorial Football Tournament 2024, following decisive victories in their respective semifinal matches held at Ziontlang Village Ground, Chandel, on Friday.

Kankhu Athletic FC secured their spot with a commanding 2-0 win over Tonsen FC in the first semifinal.

After a goalless first half, Kanlun broke the deadlock in the 68th minute, capitalising on a well-crafted opportunity.

Phowlson doubled their lead in the 77th minute, sealing a confident performance and ensuring their place in the championship match.

In the second semifinal, Cheengkhu YC displayed a dominant performance, easing past Chandel Christian YC 3-0 .

George opened the scoring early in the 18th minute, followed by a clinical finish from Oliver in the 30th minute to extend the lead.

George struck again in the 78th minute, capping off a decisive victory that left no doubt about their form heading into the final.

The tournament's concluding match is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the same venue.

Both teams will be vying for glory in what promises to be an exciting final at Ziontlang Village Ground, Chandel.
