Imphal, June 05 2022:
Manipur faltered in their second match after losing out to Jharkhand in their Group A match in the U-18 men's hockey tournament of the 4th Khelo India Youth Games on Sunday.
The state team suffered a 3-2 defeat to their opponents as Dingku Sharma Gurumayum's double went in vain.
Jharkhand scored all their three goals inside 20 minutes as Deepak Soreng netted the opener in the 17th minute and Bilsan Dodray made it 2-0 in a one-minute span before Navin Kerketta tripled the lead in the 20th minute.
Manipur, however, put up spirited fight and came close to restoring parity but Jharkhand clung on to seal full points.
