Ziontlang to face Chumbang in Chothe Sports Meet football final

Imphal, February 03 2022: Chumbang and Zi ontlang will meet in the final of the 57th Chothe Students' Union Sports Meet, following their semifinal victories on Thursday at Ziontlang village, Chumbang started the day with a 6-1 thrashing of Purum Khullen in their semi final match.

Daimus opened the scoring after five minutes be fore Ahong struck a double (22nd, 31st) in the space of nine minutes.

Moments later, Daimus collected his second goal to make it 4-0 as Ahrapa rounded off the scoring with a quick double (43rd, 45th) to power their side to an emphatic win en route to the final.

Purum managed a consolation goal in the 80th minute through Doney.

Ziontlang, meanwhile, beat New Wangparal in a penalty shoot-out to reach the final.

The game went into the shootout after the two sides remained 1 -1 at the end of regulation time.

Ziontlang prevailed 4-2 in the spot kicks courtesy of Salemthang, Kanthanglen, Darthangshu and Henry.

Earlier during the match, New Wangparal took the lead in the 12th minute through Khamson but Ziontlang drew level in the 80th minute through Henry.
