Barak Football tournament concludes

A press release issued by 27 Assam Rifles, Kadamtala, Jiribam states that the Football has always been a popular sports among the youth of Northeast.
To promote the development of footfall and spread the idea of peace and harmony among the various tribes, Barak Football tournament was organized by 27 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector Assam Rifles at Jiribam Higher Secondary ground among various village football clubs.

The tournament was conducted over a period of eight days from October 26 to November 2 in which six clubs played against each other which included Namdailong Youth Club, Cachar, Phaituol Youth Club, Phaituol, Yaipha Lamjing Club, Dibong, Lungrejang Youth Club, Kalinagar, Sinlung Club, Hmarkhawlien, Cachar and Seijang Youth Club, Seijang.
Eventually, Yaipha Lamjing Club and Sinlung Club, Hmarkhawlien Club appeared in the top spot to play the final match.
In the grueling display of skill and temperament in the final match played between the two teams on Monday, Sinlung Club, Hmarkhawlien eventually won the match through penalty 5-4.The winning team was awarded with a cash award of Rs 5,000 .
