KFC, LYA off to flying starts; AKSA held by YWU in 2nd Youth Football League 2024

KFC (Kakching) and LYA (Wangoo) began their campaigns with comfortable victories, while AKSA (Kha-Khunou) and YWU (Kakching) shared the spoils on the opening day of the 2nd Youth Football League 2024, held on Sunday at the DSA Kakching playground.
KFC delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over SESU, with Manithoiba setting the tone early by scoring in the 3rd minute.
Tonthang doubled the lead in the 26th minute, followed by Eshant's strike in the 36th minute, taking the score to 3-0 by halftime.
Thoungamba added to the tally in the 50th minute, further cementing KFC's dominance.
SESU managed a consolation goal through Ksh Rinkal in the 54th minute, but it was not enough to halt KFC's dominant start to the tournament.
In another match, LYA outclassed SAO with a 3-1 triumph.
A Micky opened the scoring for LYA in the 10th minute, but SAO responded through N Nores, who equalised in the 22nd minute.
LYA regained control when A Parikhomba restored their lead in the 29th minute, and Micky secured his brace with a well-placed finish in the 60th minute, sealing a comfortable win.
Meanwhile, the encounter between AKSA and YWU ended in a 1-1 draw.
M Yo-henba struck early for AKSA in the 3rd minute, but Ksh Gyanson's 43rd-minute equaliser brought YWU back into contention.
Despite intense efforts from both sides in the second half, the match concluded with honours shared.
