Six boxers book gold medal bouts on Day 1 of Junior State Level Boxing C'ship

Imphal, June 01 2022: Six boxers made it to gold medal bouts on the opening day of the State Level Boxing Championship 2022 (junior boys & girls) underway at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

In the semifinal matches on Wednesday, Mutum Nikison Meetei outpunched Chongtham Naoba Singh in their -46kg duel, Md Mujahid of Kakching bested Awung shi Jingo in -46kg category, Mashungchui Phungshok got the better of Samom Bikash Meitei in other 48kg category bout, Angom Ronaldo Meitei outdid Khunjamayum Bidyananda Singh in -48kg category, Moirangthem Yaikhomba Singh defeated Salam Diamond Singh in -52kg category and Rengneivar Serto Kom outperformed Tekcham Radhakanta Singh in -63kg category.

The day also saw Mayengbam Herojit Singh (-54kg), Elangbam Sunanda Singh (-57kg) and Laishram Jay-alaxmi Devi ( -46kg girls) progress to the semifinals as Thuiranring Kharing (-50kg) got a walkover into the semi-finals.
