80th Adventure

The 80th Adventure Course conducted by Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association from January 18 concluded today.
The course was conducted under coarse director S Jiten Mangang, secretary MMTA and deputy coarse director Mayengbam Megha Singh at Manipur Mountaineering Institute, Lamdan as a part of Military Civic Action Programme of Red Shield Division.
Altogether 39 trainees including 7 girls participated in this adventure course which was aimed in providing the attributes of endurance, courage, comradeship and excellence.
Trekking, Rock-Climbing, First-Aid, Obstacles, Watermanship, Map Reading, Camp and Bush Crafts and Jungle Survival were the highlights of this course.
The course also imparted the knowledge in various subjects like Adventure Tourist Guide, Environment Education and Preparedness on Disaster Management etc.
Social interaction programmes like community work, cultural programmes, public speaking and group competitions were also parts of the course.
The closing ceremony of the course was attended by Col N Romeo Singh, Deputy Commander 73 Loktak Brigade as chief guest, PK Shidu, Senior Manager, HR NHPC, Loktak Project and Shriram S Mooley, Commanding Officer, GR Bishnupur as guest of honours and Bijoy Kakchingtabam, president MMTA as functional president.
