Jotin, Niruta named players of the year

Imphal, July 31 2024: PTRC, Patsoi's Jotin Pheiroijam and THAU, Thangmeiband's Niruta Thoudam were presented men's and women's Player of the Year Award respectively with Coach of the Year Award handed over to PTRC & PTCC, Patsoi head coach Pheiroijam Rohindro during the 1st MNCA Award 2023-24 organised by Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) at City Convention Centre on Wednesday.

On the other hand, titles of Emerging Player (Boy) was awarded to Kh Firdos Khan (KSDO, Kiyamgei) and K Nonibala (girl) of THAU; Trainer of the Year to Salam Cherish, Jessica Karam, Joyta Phurailatpam, Koijam Biken-son and Wahengbam Kunjabihari; Physio of the Year Award to Thongam Kamlesh; Umpire of the Year to Ngairyambam Milan; Match Referee of the Year to Athokpam Himat; Ground of the Year to Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College ground; and Team of the Year to PTRC senior women's team.

The Manipur Team which competed in the Ranji Trophy including Rajkumar Rex, Pukhrambam Prafulomani, Md Sultan Karim Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam, M Langl-onyamba and Bashir Rahman were also felicitated during the function.

Special awards were also presented to RK Rex, Waikhom Ganga, Bishworjit Konthoujam and K Priyojit, while Lifetime Achievement Award were bestowed to Chongtham Chaoba, Wahengbam Bhaktaraj and Sougaijam Seityabrata.

The programme was attended by MNCA ex-president RK Imo, YAS director T Phulen Meitei, Education (S) director L Nandakumar, MNCA president Nongthombam Ziko Meitei, vice president Lairenjan Geetaranjan, secretary Leishangthem Ronel, joint secretary Syed Sultan Ahmed and treasurer Chongtham Nishikanta.
