UCC beat PTRC by 18 runs in N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy

Imphal, April 24 2019: Half centuries from Raj Giri and Aditya Prasad helped UCC, Uripok earn an 18 run victory against PTRC, Patsoi in a Group B league match of the ongoing 1st MCA Under 16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2019 at Heinoupok Ground today.

After electing to bat first, UCC took of their innings on a bright note as Raj Giri hit a brilliant 64 runs off 56 balls while Aditya Prasad added 62 runs in 59 balls to make it 219 for 5 in 30 overs.

Rohit and Aditya Ravidas also contributed 23 and 19 runs each for the team.

Nishi led the bowling attack for PTRC but finished with 2 wickets in 4 overs providing 24 runs while his compatriots Joyraj, Jotin and Loya also managed 1 wickets each in their 6 overs spells.

In reply, PTRC had a robust start with Jotin hitting 68 runs in 63 balls followed by Ravi Sahu's 36 in 29 balls but their effort went in vain as they could managed only 201 runs for 9 wickets in their quota of 30 overs.

Joyraj and Rohit of the team also gathered 21 and 17 runs respectively.

Rohit, Rajgiri and Aditya Prasad of PTRC had a memorable day as they picked up two wickets each after batting well in the first innings while Roshan Kumar and Loyaba managed 1 wickets each.

Rajgiri of UCC was named man of the match.

YWC will meet OSCAR in the next Group B league match tomorrow at Langthabal Public Ground.
