AR organises chess classes, tourney on World Chess Day

Assam Rifles celebrated World Chess Day at Mol-cham village with an event that included chess classes and a tournament.
The event drew 20 participants from seven neighbouring villages.
Led by an Assam Rifles officer, the chess classes provided insights into various strategies and techniques, from opening moves to end game tactics.
These sessions were designed to enhance participants' understanding of chess and inspire a deeper appreciation for the game's intellectual challenges, ac cording to an IGAR (S) press release.
The tournament included intense matches in which participants meticulously planned their moves and anticipated their opponents' strategies.
Each game showcased tactical prowess and sportsmanship and the spectators from the local community cheered their champions, adding to the event's liveliness, the release continued.
Beyond the chessboard, the event fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among the villages, it added.
