AR emerge overall winners at Senior State Archery Championship

The Assam Rifles Archery team has emerged overall champions at the 30th Senior State Archery Championship 2018 held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal from 12 to 15 September 2018 .
Archers from various Archery Clubs of Manipur took part in the Competition.
Altogether 25 players of Assam Rifles Archery team participated in three events of Indian, Recurve and Compound Rounds at this championship said a press statement of IGAR (S) .
Proving their mettle in the competition the archers performed exceedingly well against the tough challenge from other participating archers and won medals in both individual as well as team events.
The team stood overall first in the competition with a tally of 7 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Apart from the medals won by the archers in the team event, individual medals were also won wherein Rifleman Ch Johnson and Mahila Rifleman Sapna Kumari won Gold medals in Indian Round while Rifleman N Subhachandra Meitei won Gold medals in both individual ranking and Olympic event of Recurve Round.
All the medals of the individual ranking round of men's category of both Indian and Recurve Round were won by the archers of Assam Rifles Archery team, the statement said.
The teams of Assam Rifles also won the Gold in the Indian and Recurve categories and team Silver in the Compound event on the final day of the event at the Khuman Lampak which was witnessed by Th Satyabrata Singh, MLA, Sunil Elangbam, Secretary General, Manipur Olympic Association, Brig Amit Kabthiyal, Sena Medal, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles and other dignitaries, it added.
