Tengkonjang YC emerge champions of 2nd Ahina Knockout Football tournament

Imphal, December 13 2019: The 2nd Ahina Knockout Football Tournament-2019 organized jointly by Khongsang village authority, Khongsang Youth Village authority, Khongsang Customary Court and 143 Bn CRPF under the Civic Action Programme at Sangrung Common Ground, Khongsang, Tamenglong to commemorate the sportsmanship of Ahina a Rongmei Hero, concluded today.

A total of 18 teams from various parts of Manipur were participated in the tournament, which was kicked off on December 3 .

Depu Gangmei MCS, ADM Ukhrul graced the closing ceremony of the tournament as chief guest.

Lamkhokam Lhoujem, Commandant-143 Bn CRPF welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries, invitees and spectators.

Dr K Kabui, CMO-143 Bn CRPF; Akhiakpou Kamei, ADC Nungba; Meirijin ADC Nungnang; Romen Singh Asst Commandant-143 Bn CRPF; Ravi Kumar AC-143 Bn CRPF; Elvis Phaomei Asstt Manager, Manipur Rural Bank; Kilongdi Gonmei, Chairman Khongsang Village; M C Kamei, Secretary, Khongsang village, people of surrounding villages attended the closing ceremony.

In the final match, Tengkonjang YC defeated KTYC (Venture) by 5-3 goals via tie breaker after a goalless draw during normal time.

The winners and runners-up teams were decorated with trophies & medals by the chief guest, Depu Gangmei MCS, ADM Ukhrul.

The chairman and villagers of surrounding areas appreciated the excellent work done by CRPF for the community in the remote areas of Manipur, said a press note issued by PRO of 143 Bn CRPF.
