Imphal, October 12 2024: The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the names of the players selected to represent men and women's teams in the East Zone Inter University Hockey (M&W) Tournaments, 2024-25 to be hosted by Sambalpur University.

The players selected in the men's team for the tournament due to be held from November 19 to 24 are as follows.

GK : Sorenshangbam Bashu Meitei of Standard College and Takhelchangbam Anish Sharma of KPC;
DF : Morish Moirangthem of MU, Laishram Kiran Meitei of BMC, Bloodlee Laimayum of BMC;
MF : Moirangthem Borish of NBC, Sorokhaibam Telish of KPC, Takhellambam Niraj of NBC, Ningombam Geetchandra of Standard College, RK Dhanendrajit of NGC and Thokchom Inglemba BMC; FW : Wahengbam Kartik of CIC, Samson Sorokhaibam of MU, Lisham Michael of UNACCO, Soram Chinglemba of KPC, Ngangom Thoiba of Manipur College, Lulukumar Sanasam of MU and Anoubam Varun Sharma of MU.

Reserves : Th Budha of MU (DF), Rakesh Louremba of MU (MF) and Irungbam Barlindev of M (FW) .

The players in the women's team for the tournament to be held from November 11 to 16 are as follows .

GK : T Ayingbi Chanu of BMC, Y Linthoi of SSGGC;
DF : K Priyanka of TSPMWC, Ch Bebika of SSGGC, N Deena of TSPMWC;
MF : W Romita Chanu of TSPMWC, RK Laksana of SSGGC, K Pilu Sharma of TSPMWC, K Sarla of CIC, K Elena of TSPMWC, Kumam Pushpa of SSGGC;

FW : M Basko of MU, Irikhanbi Tongbram of TMC, Sanathoi Seram of SKWC, K Reena of TSPMWC, Th Sonika of NBC, Th Sophiya of MU and K Priyanka of MBC.

Reserves : Tiya Naorem of Standard College and Ningombam Lemthoibi of MU.

Both the selected men and women's players should report to the office of the Assistant Director of Sports, MU on October 21 at 11.30 am for further directives, said the Department of Sports, MU in an order.
