UCC upstage OSCAR by 6 wkts in Plate cricket

Imphal, August 11 2022: UCC (Uripok) comfortably beat OSCAR (Paona Bazar) by 6 wickets in their Group A meeting in the MNCA Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

OSCAR batted first and made 194 for 7 in the stipulated 40 overs.

Their total revolved around efforts from Tamarjit, who hit 75 off 102, Ningmaithem Bijendro (39) and Permeshowr (20) .

Thangjam Cheery shone with the ball for UCC as he picked up 4 wickets while Shyam Kumar Ray did his bit with 2 wickets and Tomson Waikhom accounted for one.

UCC then took 30.3 overs to achieve the target courtesy of Moirangthem Satish Kumar (64), Haobam Ajitkumar (52), Rishan Das (28) and Thangjam Anson (21 not out) .

The winning side lost 4 wickets in their run chase.

For OSCAR, Nongmaithem Bijendro claimed 2 scalps as T Santosh and Tamarjit took one each.

Moirangthem Satish Kumar, who scored 64 off 52 balls, walked away with the man of the match trophy.

RRCC will square off against YAC in a Group B fixture on Friday, August 12 .
