17th Manipur State League : Ngoru Semi Moyon stars in YPHU's 3-0 rout of USA, KLASA hold AFC

Imphal, February 11 2025: The Athletics Football Club (AFC), Thoubal were held to a 2-2 draw by Keinou Library and Sports Association (KLASA), Keinou as Young Physiques' Union (YPHU), Lalambung thrash USA, Khurai by 3-0 goals in today's matches of the ongoing 17th Manipur State League.

In a Group B match and 13th match of the tournament staged at Artificial Turf Ground, KLASA rallied back twice to salvage a 2-2 draw with AFC.

AFC broke the deadlock in the 18th minute of the match through Wahengbam Tejkumar Meitei only to be equalised by KLASA's Mohammad Rigan Shah in the 37th minute.

After settling the first half in a 1-1 draw, the two sides put in efforts to find the difference until Suraj Wangkhem made the most of a chance in the 80th minute to put AFC back in the lead.

The goal did not dampen the spirit of KLASA and cancelled out the lead within two minutes as Yumnam Arbin who came off the bench after the break drew level and brought KLASA back into the game.

The later part of the game also saw both the sides toiling hard to find the winner but their efforts did not yield any result and eventually had to share a point apiece.

In a Group A match staged later in the day, YPHU enjoyed a 1-0 first half lead before adding twice in the second half to seal the game 3-0 .

Defender Ngoru Semi Moyon (42', 58') scored twice in this match while substitute Kangabam Lamnganba hit the final nail in the coffin in the 86th minute.
