Women's Premier League-2024 commences at Senapati

Senapati, October 10 2024: The 2nd edition of Women's Premier League, 2024, kicked off at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati with 4 teams in the fray for the top honour.

The league is being organised by the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) and supported by the 16 Assam Rifles.

Introduced just last year, the district's women football players have improved so much that some of them started playing even at the National level within a short span of time.

More players are expected to be produced from the district with proper guidance and support to the district women football players.

The inaugural function of the league competition was graced by Major NM Singh, Camp Commander, 16 Assam Rifles, Senapati Outpost as special guest.

The teams participating in the tournament are Senapati FC, Makhrelui FC, Range Rover FC and Maram Khunou FC.

The opening day saw Senapati FC and Range Rover FC registering landslide victories.

The next matches are scheduled on Saturday.

The winner of the league competition is stated to be sent to next year's State level league event.
